Waterproof Boots
ITEM: 1187

DESCRIPTION:

Knee boots such as these were used for wet conditions and during boating trips. Skin is left tanned as to not remove any natural oils which make the boots waterproof. The bottom portion is made from thick brown leather.

Hide was treated with care and respect in order to retain some of the animal’s own abilities (Berlo & Phillips, p.144).
